Getting there

Ferry services run from Newhaven to Dieppe throughout the year (http://ldlines.co.uk/timetables/dieppe-newhaven) although it is also possible to take ferry services to the other Normandy ports and drive south, or take the Eurostar to Paris and the train to Dieppe, via Rouen.

From the harbour at Dieppe it’s a 20 minute walk to the house, if you’re not too encumboured. There is a bus service during the day and you can call a cab from the terminal (or before if you’d like one to meet you there: Taxis Dieppois, Pont Jehan Ango, 76200 Dieppe, Tél. : 02 35 84 20 05 / Fax : 02 35 84 09 24). Otherwise it’s a short drive – just follow the road below the cliffs towards centre-ville, turn right over the two harbour bridges. See the map below for directions.

Driving instructions: to get to the house by car is a little complicated.

from the ferry follow Quai de la Marne, Quai de la Somme (a theme emerging there).

Turn right and cross the Pont Colbert.

Continue to cross the Pont Arno.

At the round about hang a left  and continue down the Quai Duquesne.

After about 250m take a right filter into Boulevard General de Gaulle.

Take the fourth road to the right – Rue L.Bourgois (Warning! these are small roads!)

At the end of this road turn right and then immediately left into Rue des Maillots and then take the first right: Rue du Chene Perce.

Cross R. De L’oranger and the next left is Rue Pecquet – the house is on the corner.

Note: Rue Pecquet is pedestrianised so you can’t turn into the street – you can stop to unload on the Rue du Chene Perce (there are meters) but keep an eye out for the parking people. The nearest free parking is outside the Centre culturel mediateque on Quai Berigny.

Walking: as above to the Quai Duquesne. Then turn right down the Rue du Boeuf. Rue Pecquet is at the end of this street – turn left and no. 14 is on your right (the last house with the green shutters).
