Holiday lets

Lettings

The old house is on four floors, each floor originally a self-contained flat. The first floor can still be used as a self contained flat with a double sofa bed, kitchenette and shower/toilet suitable for a couple. The upper two floors and the attic room consists of a double bed room with shower/WC, up to 3 kids beds in the attic and a kitchen diner on the second floor. All four floors can be let together providing space for 4 adults and 3 kids (or more if you want – there are comfy mattresses in store) or just the 1st floor flat, or the top maisonette.

Because of the crossing time from the UK the minimum let is 3 days, although a week will give you time to relax into Dieppe’s distinctive laid back culture. The first floor flat is also available for longer lets and would be ideal as a beachhead for those wishing to explore this part of France further.

Dieppe has a lively social calender with annual events such as the Herring Festival in November and the Kite Festival in the summer pulling in the crowds. As the closest beach to Paris it still retains an old world seaside charm in the August holiday. We’d recommend you spend a little time looking at the calender for the year and investigating some of the links to these events before booking.

Rates

We aim to cover our expenses in keeping and maintaining the house and to pay a cleaner after each visit so the rates are incredibly reasonable. To make this possible we’d like to ask you to bering your own towels, sheets, quilt covers and pillow cases. There are plenty of quilts, blankets and pillows. Or, if you prefer, use the ones in the house and wash them when you leave (there’s a coin op launderette in the square).

First floor flat only

40 euro/day (which works out at around £30/day, £88/3 day stay, £125/ week)

Three floor maisonette/family flat

80 euro/day (£60/day, £180/3 day stay, £300/week)

All four floors

100 euro/day (£75/day, £200/3 day stay, £350/ week)

Winter services surcharge

As we said, it’s an old house (the cellar goes back to the 16th C) and the heating system is inefficient, so when the weather is cold and the heating is on we have to charge a energy surcharge of 10 euro/day.

Please note that the house has steep stairs which may not be easy to use for everyone. It’s also un-modernised and doesn’t have a phone line, TV, dishwasher or other mod cons. But we think it more than makes up for this with bags of history and character and one of the best locations in Dieppe. So if you like the fully equipped holiday experience, this may not be for you…
